Minecraft: Join us for the Thoreau Minecraft club! This club offers the unique experience of playing with others using Minecraft mentors will be available to help students design and construct and students will be encouraged to collaborate in this virtual world while solving differences in constructive ways. Who: grades 2-5, Where: Computer Lab, Cost: $60 (no personal membership is needed),
Mondays, 3:30 – 4:30 on 4/10, 4/24, 5/1, 5/8, 5/15, 5/22, 5/29, 6/5, Class limit: 13
Thursdays, 3:30 – 4:30 on 4/13, 4/27, 5/4, 5/11, 5/18, 5/25, 6/1, 6/8, Class limit: 16
*One session per child – a child may not enroll in both sessions.

Fuzzy Felt: Join Mrs. Dillon in her sewing extravaganza! Learn how to sew bags, pillows, stuffed animals and learn appliqué. Fun for boys and girls who like crafts. Who: Grades 3-5, Where: Mrs. Dillon’s Room, Class limit: 10, Cost: $80, When: Wednesdays, 3:30 – 4:30 on 4/12, 4/26, 5/3, 5/10, 5/17, 5/24, 5/31, 6/7

For the Birds! Join other 3rd to 5th grade students in an early-morning exploration of the school grounds and neighborhood looking and listening for birds. We’ll learn to identify our common birds by sight and sound while we search for less common spring migrants. Each participant will use a pair of high quality binoculars. No previous experience necessary. The club will be run by Jeff Collins, Thoreau parent and Mass Audubon staff member. Sessions will run from 7:45 a.m. until the beginning of school, Who: grades 3-5, Where: Meet in cafeteria, Class Limit: 10, Cost: $25, When: Wednesday mornings 7:45 – 8:45 am on 5/3, 5/10, 5/17, 5/24, 5/31, 6/7.
