Minecraft: Join us for the Thoreau Minecraft club! This club offers the unique experience of playing with others using Minecraft.edu. Minecraft mentors will be available to help students design and construct and students will be encouraged to collaborate in this virtual world while solving differences in constructive ways. Who: grades 2-5, Where: Computer Lab, Cost: $60, (no personal membership is needed)

Fuzzy Felt: Join Mrs. Dillon in her sewing extravaganza! Learn how to sew bags, pillows, stuffed animals and learn appliqué. Fun for boys and girls who like crafts. Who: Grades 3-5, Where: Mrs. Dillon’s Room, Class limit: 10, Cost: $80, When: Wednesdays 3:30 – 4:30 on 2/1, 2/8, 2/15, 3/1, 3/8, 3/15, 3/22, 3/29

Japanese Crafts and Culture: Come experience Japanese culture, crafts and food in this class led by Ms. Burns. Kids will be introduced to traditional arts such as origami, sumie, and shuji/shodo. They will learn about Japanese Manga and Anime, and will study Miyazaki. Finally, kids will try some Japanese cooking! Who: Grades 3-5, Where: Ms. Burns’ Room, Class limit: 10, Cost: $90, When: Thursdays, 3:30 – 4:30 on 2/2, 2/9, 2/16, 3/2, 3/9, 3/16, 3/23, 3/30
