Book Character Parade April 12th/ Fundraising/ Kindergarten Registration

Book Character Parade:

Celebrate National Library Week with a Thoreau School tradition, our annual Book Character Parade.  This will be our 28th!  On Tuesday, April 12, at 11:30 A.M. (note the correct date and time, the Thursday Announcements from March 24th had the wrong date), children and staff dressed as their favorite book characters will march through the school halls led by the Cat in the Hat and a special guest.  Children can start the fun now by choosing a book character and making a simple costume, mask or prop to suggest that character.  Parents are welcome to attend this event and watch as the children parade outside the school on April 12th.  For more information watch theThursday Announcements, or talk to Karen or Cathy in the library.

Fundraising Update:

Our Annual Appeal is wrapping up and we are trying to get 100% participation!  Please consider donating to help fund PTG sponsored activities, enrichment activities for our students, classroom stipends, etc.  This year, the PTG helped fund transportation for several field trips, seed money to begin a school “store,” and supplies for the BOKS program.  Go to:  https://www.thoreauptg.org/online-giving/  to donate now!

Come eat dinner at Vincenzo’s this Wednesday, March 30th.   Bring the flyer sent home with the students and a portion of the cost of your meal will go to the Thoreau PTG.

Also, consider participating in the Yankee Candle Fundraiser by going to:  LINK TO THOREAU ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PTG SHOPPING PAGE.
