PTG Co-Presidents’ Message and News

This week we would like to start off by thanking Meghan Merna for organizing children’s programming for the 5th graders last week. They experienced Paul Revere’s Midnight Ride brought to them by The Freedom Trail Scholars Program. They bring the spirit and fervor of the American Revolution to life! Multiple actors take on various roles during the one-hour interactive class to educate and engage students about a major Revolutionary event, Paul Revere’s Midnight Ride.

Programs such as these are made possible due to the generosity of the Thoreau community. Just a reminder that there is one week left to contribute towards the Annual Appeal in time to be eligible for the grand prize: A kindle paper white waterproof and a $50 gift certificate to both Fiorella’s and the Dotted I. Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far!

Once again we are looking for parents to join us on the PTG next year. Many of the positions that we have available are not as time-consuming as one may think, and it’s really fun and rewarding to get involved! Also, many of them can be shared between two people, which makes them even more manageable and fun. On the Board we have the following openings: Co-President, Vice President, Secretary, Fundraising Chair(s),Communications Chair(s), and Health and Wellness Chair(s). Please reach out to Danielle ( or Evy ( with any questions.

Upcoming Events:
May 21st – PTG meeting @9:30am (everyone welcome)
May 28th – Professional Development Day – no school
May 31st – Memorial Day – no school
